Shayna DelVecchio

Shayna DelVecchio, LMSW, is a licensed psychotherapist at the Metropolitan Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, specializing in anxiety treatment across the lifespan with a particular focus on children, adolescents, and young adults. Shayna is deeply passionate about supporting individuals, as is evident in her therapeutic approach. She leads with empathy, compassion, and warmth, using an engaging strengths-based approach to uplift and empower her clients to make the desired changes in their lives.

Shayna earned her MSW at Columbia University, where she studied Advanced Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Child/Adolescent Mental Health Studies from NYU. With experience in individual, group, family, and couples therapy, Shayna has provided treatment in both private practice and at an outpatient clinic specializing in eating disorders and high-acuity mental health cases. In addition to her emphasis on CBT and psychodynamic therapy, she has training in other evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Applied Behavioral Analysis.

Outside of the therapy room, Shayna volunteers for organizations that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She also has a cat and a pet “mini” potbelly pig who is, unfortunately, not nearly “mini” enough to make a guest appearance at the office!
